About
I am Hyun Woo Roh, a baritone born in Seoul, Korea.
I am currently completing my studies in opera singing at Yonsei University College of Music.
I began singing in 2017 and later entered a music school, where I developed a strong passion for performing beautiful classical opera on world-class stages.
In pursuit of this dream, I have worked diligently on both music and acting, steadily improving my skills.
In 2018, I traveled to Italy to deepen my music studies, and while there, I had the opportunity to witness performances by world-renowned musicians, which greatly inspired and expanded my artistic vision.
I participated in several international competitions, gaining valuable experience, and in 2020, I was invited to an audition for the Young Artist Program at the Metropolitan Opera House through the Viñ as Competition.
In 2019, I also received an invitation from the Florence Opera House in Italy through the Flaviano Labo Competition.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to pursue these opportunities.
The challenges posed by the pandemic forced me to return to Korea, but I used this time to refine my technique and expand my artistic expression.
Although it was a difficult period, I focused on my growth as an artist, refusing to lose determination.
During this time, I developed greater patience and resilience, which I believe will continue to strengthen my future performances.
While I have made significant progress through these experiences, I know there is still much to learn.
Despite overcoming various challenges, I remain humble and committed to continuous improvement.
I am now ready to take the next step in my career.
After completing my studies at Yonsei University in 2025, I hope to seize new opportunities abroad and, through them, gain more experience and develop my language skills.
I am eager to continue my music career on the world stage and grow into a more mature and versatile artist.
I will approach every performance with the utmost dedication, always striving for excellence in my craft as an opera singer.
